NOTD - Nail Rocks

I received these in one of my recent Glossy Boxes and was so excited to try them.

They were really difficult to put on and I took them off soon after! I couldn't get them filed down properly and the edges were very ragged.

Such a pity as they do look lovely if done properly!

Have you tried Nail Rocks? What did you think?

NOTD - 17 Magnetized Nail Polish

Love this nail polish, goes on really well and easy to create an effect which looks stunning!

This is the First brand of the Magnetized type polishes I've tried, but am really impressed by it and can't wait to try the other colours!

Hair Extensions

I have decided that I want to get some clip in hair extensions, not necessarily for volume, but for length as my hair seems to be stuck just under my shoulder blades. I really wish it would grow longer! So I've been looking at Lush Hair Extensions, has anyone tried these, what do you think of them? Also, do i get full head or half head? I'm thinking half head as I don't want the volume? The price of the full head is £34.99 and the half head is £18.99! Decisions Decisions....

Glossy Box - October

I recently received my second Glossy Box! I love getting them and getting new products to try. This is what came in my Glossy Box this month:

I love the packaging, so pretty! I plan on using the boxes for storing my nail polishes, hair accessories and make up.

DERMALOGICA AGE SMART

* MultiVitamin Thermafoliant (75ml) RRP: £40.50

A powerful thermal skin polisher that combines physical and chemical exfoliants to refine skin texture and enhance penetration of age-fighting actives into skin, while advanced technology ingredients condition and treat the skin. -

* MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque (75ml) RRP: £33.00

A powerful masque of concentrated antioxidant vitamins to help skin recover from damage while enhancing barrier properties and promoting healthy tissue regeneration

I haven't used either of these yet, but can't wait! Have always wanted to try Dermalogica, but way out of my price range!

* Renewal Lip Complex (1.75ml) RRP: £22.50

A powerful masque of concentrated antioxidant vitamins to help skin recover from damage while enhancing barrier properties and promoting healthy tissue regeneration - I have been using this twice a day and am very impressed! My lips are really soft and smooth, and this will be great for the upcoming winter months!

LEIGHTON DENNY

* Expert Nails High Performance Colour (12ml) RRP: £11.00

Leighton Denny Expert Nails High Performance Nail Colour is a professional formula that is chip-resistant, easy to apply and long-lasting. The pigment in our polish gives an intense colour and a super-glossy finish. In this month’s Glossy Box you will find 3 shades from our Risque Collection. Babydoll, Sex Kitten and Hanky Panky – perfect for spicing up the long winter nights indoors! - I received Hanky Panky, and was a bit disappointed, as I was really hoping for Sex Kitten, a lovely blue colour. Orange is not really my type of colour, but I will def be using it on Saturday to go with my Halloween outfit!

ROBERT PIGUET

* Fracas de Robert Piguet (sample size) RRP: £65.00

A Lush White Floral. Create a little chaos with this lush white floral. Distinctly feminine, this intoxicating classic combines tuberose, jasmine, violet and gardenia with a hint of orange blossom before giving way to a base of sandalwood, vetiver and musk. Fracas is the signature fragrance for women who want to make an unforgettable impression.

 * Visa de Robert Piguet (sample size) RRP: £65.00

Mysterious and addictive, this gourmand oriental is a spellbinding combination of lush white vineyard peach and pear mingled with rose, ylang, rich patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla beans. Dazzling and dramatic, Visa de Robert Piguet is the fragrance for those who expect the exceptional.

 * Visa de Robert Piguet (sample size) RRP: £65.00

Calypso de Robert Piguet - Bewitching and romantic, Calypso is a mesmerizing mix of fiery and lush floral facets. It blends top notes of geranium and mandarin with a heart of rose and iris before revealing a seductive base of patchouli, amber and suede. Calypso is the fragrance for those who dazzle the world with their stunning style

I had a quick sniff of all of these, and none of them appealed to me! I received perfume in the last glossybox too, and didn't like that one either. I think perfume is a risky one to send with the boxes as its such hit and miss and everyone has different tastes!

STILA

* Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner RRP: £13.00

Stila’s highly pigmented, waterproof eye liner glides on, delivering intense, vibrant color with staying power.

I have used this liner a few times and LOVE IT!! It's a golden green colour, and goes really nicely with my brown eyes. It goes on really smoothly and has real staying power!

I also received a free Dermalogica travel/make up bag in the box, which unfortunately, I don't have a photo of, but it's lovely! Can never have too many make up bags!

Overall, I'm really happy with this month's Glossy Box and can't wait for the next one!!

Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model Finalists

I very rarely watch any of the 'Next Top Model' shows from start to finish, American or British. But I have been following this season's British Top Models! I am hooked, absolutely love it! There are some factors that irritate me, I hate the way Elle talks!

The finalists are:

Jade & Juste

Jade has been my favourite from the start, she's such a sweetheart! She always looks great in her photos, and I love her unique look.  I love her cute personality and I think the youth could relate to her.

Juste is a BITCH! I really am disappointed that she got through, I would rather have had Anastasija out of the evil two. Yes, she is pretty but she isn't original , and therefore, in my eyes, a bog standard model. I really get annoyed when she is on screen, she never has anything nice to say about anyone.I really hope she doesn't win, she doesn't deserve it.

On another note, how did Amy even get on to the show? SERIOUSLY?

After her makeover, she was a female Noel Fielding! I love Noel, Man Alive he's hot, but unfortunately, I can't say the same about Amy.

I picked up the August Cosmo, which came with a free Missguided Nail Polish. I chose the teal colour.

It needed 2 layers, but went on nicely and is shiny. I love the colour!

MUA

Following on from Superdrug...Superfail, here is my review on the colours I did end up getting:

MUA Shade 15. The first photo is without a flash, second with the flash. Neither of the photos do justice to the colour, it's a bright pink with a hint of coral. I really like the colour, and will definitely be using it again.

MUA Shade 5. I really like this colour, but I hate the nail polish!! I don't know why the pink was so different to this one, but as you can tell by the photo, even after 2 layers it was blotchy. The nail polish is extremely watery. The good thing about it is that it lasted forever with no chips. Does anyone know a similar colour from a different brand?

Semi-Permanent Eyelashes

Today I went and had semi-perm eyelashes put on at Wyndham Place Clinic, a small salon near Baker Street. I only paid £30 for the  lashes with a Groupon deal I found a few months ago. They are usually worth £110.

"About Nouveau Lashes – and why they’re a better way to glam up!
Nouveau lashes are a state of the art, semi-permanent eyelash extension treatment for women (and men) who wish to lengthen their lashes and define their eyes – carefully developed by experts to produce longer, thicker and very natural looking lashes!

Nouveau lashes are virtually weightless and are applied to your lashes one at a time. With this treatment, the Lashes appear to have their own root so they don’t look fake. They’re made of silk, so the result is longer, thicker, natural looking lashes that are comfortable to wear and last between 6-8 weeks, rather than just a few days. With Nouveau Lashes, you can shower, exercise, swim and cry without worrying about them falling out!"

The process of putting them on was pretty straightforward. You lie down, they clean your eyes, and put an adhesive strip under your bottom lid and your eyes are technically 'glued' shut. This took a little getting used to, and I kept wanting to open my eyes.

Once I got used to it, it was actually quite relaxing. I fell asleep a few times! The whole procedure lasted about an hour.

These are the results, what do you think?

Superdrug....Superfail!

I recently blogged about a promotion Superdrug were doing, Finger Paint: Free Nail Polish, where if you bought 2 500ml bottles of coke, you would receive 2 limited edition MUA Nail polishes.

Last night I went into Superdrug in Wimbledon, looking forward to receiving 2 new polishes. What a disappointment! I grabbed my cokes, and noted the tag underneath them showing the promotion. I looked around and couldn't see any nail polishes, so thought maybe they were with all the other MUA products. But they were nowhere to be found.

I located a Superdrug person and asked where I could find the nail polishes, but she had no idea what I was talking about. I then had to show her the tag underneath the cokes showing the promotion. She then called 2 other Superdrug supervisors and asked them, and they also knew nothing about the promotion.  I was then told to just choose any 2 colours I want from the MUA display.  I said to the Superdrug lady that maybe she should call someone to find out about the promotion as I might not be the only person to come in and ask about it. She just shrugged her shoulders and said 'Well why can't you just choose the colours you want'.

Very unhappy with this, and even though I did get 2 nail polishes, I'm not happy with the colours as I already have similar colours and there isn't a big range in the MUA catalogue, and I was meant to receive LIMITED EDITION colours.

LFW: Fjaba

I was lucky enough to go to my first fashion show yesterday, which my friend had got tickets for.

''We want to be faithful to ourselves, bring something special and interesting to scene. A fashion show is never only showing pieces of clothing, it should be a real story, a ‘fjaba’ (fairy tale), in which music, styling and scenes  present the whole creative vision'' said the fashion duo, explaining the secret of their fashion cocktail..." Here are some photos I took!
