Oscars 2011

// Sandra Bullock wearing Vera Wang. I love the style of the dress, it's so flattering for her shape, and she looks gorgeous in red!

// Mila Kunis wearing Elie Saab. I love the colour and the style of this dress. It's very feminine but with a hint of naughty with the see through panels on her thighs.

// Hailee Steinfeld wearing Marchesa. I loved Hailee's perfomance in True Grit, so was very excited to see her on the red carpet! Her dress was very cute and she even helped with the design of it!

// Hilary Swank wearing Gucci. I really like this dress, but it seems familiar? I think it's a style Hilary tends to always choose.

// Russell Brand! I do love a bit of The Brand, and I think he looks uber cool! I'm not sure who the designer is.

// Helena Bonham Carter wearing Colleen Atwood. Oh Helena I love your quirky style! The dress she wore is very typical Helena Bonham Carter, but she pulls it off so well!

// Halle Berry wearing Marchesa. Another hit for Marchesa, this dress is beautiful! I would love to wear it!

// Anne Hathaway wearing Givenchy. Anne had 8 outfit changes through the night, but this one was my fave! It's so pretty!

// Scarlett Johansson wearing Dolce & Gabbana. I think I might have liked this dress if it didn't show her bra. I just think it looks a bit tacky for a Red Carpet event! Such a pity she normally looks stunning.

// Jennifer Hudson wearing Versace. Oh Jennifer, why why why? I really hate this! Her boobs look like two squashed oranges.

// Florence Welch wearing Valentino. Perhaps she was auditioning for a part in True Grit? This is just horrible.

Crochet #3

I made a few squares on the weekend! Have worked out I need to make 49 squares for the size blanket I want to make!

7 Down...42 to go! I'm getting a lot better at it, and a lot quicker, but still the occasional 'slip up'.

Gig Photo: Foo Fighters

I took this photo in 2007, when my friend and I went to V Festival. We got a phone call to say the Foo Fighterts were doing a secret gig, so we ran to the stage and were right near the front. It was spectacular! I thought I'd do a Dave Grohl photo as my first Foto Friday, as he has just won the God Like Genius Award at the NME Awards. He deserves it, he's amamammamamamazing!! Love The Grohl!

Semi-Permanent Eyelashes

Today I went and had semi-perm eyelashes put on at Wyndham Place Clinic, a small salon near Baker Street. I only paid £30 for the  lashes with a Groupon deal I found a few months ago. They are usually worth £110.

"About Nouveau Lashes – and why they’re a better way to glam up!
Nouveau lashes are a state of the art, semi-permanent eyelash extension treatment for women (and men) who wish to lengthen their lashes and define their eyes – carefully developed by experts to produce longer, thicker and very natural looking lashes!

Nouveau lashes are virtually weightless and are applied to your lashes one at a time. With this treatment, the Lashes appear to have their own root so they don’t look fake. They’re made of silk, so the result is longer, thicker, natural looking lashes that are comfortable to wear and last between 6-8 weeks, rather than just a few days. With Nouveau Lashes, you can shower, exercise, swim and cry without worrying about them falling out!"

The process of putting them on was pretty straightforward. You lie down, they clean your eyes, and put an adhesive strip under your bottom lid and your eyes are technically 'glued' shut. This took a little getting used to, and I kept wanting to open my eyes.

Once I got used to it, it was actually quite relaxing. I fell asleep a few times! The whole procedure lasted about an hour.

These are the results, what do you think?

Crochet #1

I've decided to take up crochet, and hopefully get to a point where I can make all kinds of things and sell them!

I think I was a bit ambitious! It's goign to take me a while to get to that point!

I'm learning how to do granny squares, and the first project I have set for myself is to make a double bed size blanket!!

I'm going to blog my progress! Hopefully this will expand and I will soon be able to post pictures and patterns for other items I make!

This is what I've learnt so far:

Wish me luck!

Superdrug....Superfail!

I recently blogged about a promotion Superdrug were doing, Finger Paint: Free Nail Polish, where if you bought 2 500ml bottles of coke, you would receive 2 limited edition MUA Nail polishes.

Last night I went into Superdrug in Wimbledon, looking forward to receiving 2 new polishes. What a disappointment! I grabbed my cokes, and noted the tag underneath them showing the promotion. I looked around and couldn't see any nail polishes, so thought maybe they were with all the other MUA products. But they were nowhere to be found.

I located a Superdrug person and asked where I could find the nail polishes, but she had no idea what I was talking about. I then had to show her the tag underneath the cokes showing the promotion. She then called 2 other Superdrug supervisors and asked them, and they also knew nothing about the promotion.  I was then told to just choose any 2 colours I want from the MUA display.  I said to the Superdrug lady that maybe she should call someone to find out about the promotion as I might not be the only person to come in and ask about it. She just shrugged her shoulders and said 'Well why can't you just choose the colours you want'.

Very unhappy with this, and even though I did get 2 nail polishes, I'm not happy with the colours as I already have similar colours and there isn't a big range in the MUA catalogue, and I was meant to receive LIMITED EDITION colours.

LFW: Fjaba

I was lucky enough to go to my first fashion show yesterday, which my friend had got tickets for.

''We want to be faithful to ourselves, bring something special and interesting to scene. A fashion show is never only showing pieces of clothing, it should be a real story, a ‘fjaba’ (fairy tale), in which music, styling and scenes  present the whole creative vision'' said the fashion duo, explaining the secret of their fashion cocktail..." Shopping #1

Rimmel 60 Seconds Pulsating

I bought this colour ages ago, but never got round to using it, and now that I have, I don't know why I never used it sooner! I love the colour! My phone camera picture doesn't do the colour justice though, it's really bright and has a purple shine to it which you can't see in the pic. I need to start using my digital camera to take photos!

The colour did need 2 coats though, I found that one coat was a bit wishy washy.

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

So The Boyf and I were in Ireland this weekend! We stayed in a lovely hotel called The Burlington which was about a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre. We landed at Dublin Airport at the same time as the French rugby team, so I took a happy snap with Chabal! He's so mean looking!

We had a really great time, Dublin is a great city, lots of fun! The only downside was the cost of everything! When friends told me that Dublin was expensive, I didn't think it could be THAT expensive! But other than that, good times!

We bought tickets for the hop on hop off bus which was great because it's the easiest way to see the city and learn your way around. I think I'll be doing a hop on hop off bus tour for every new city I visit.

We went to the Guiness Storehouse which was really good, during the tour you get a half pint half way through and then a full pint at the end which you can drink in the Gravity Bar, the highest bar in Dublin with great views of the city.

Over the weekend, I gained a new respect for rugby and beer! The Boyf explained a whole lot to me while we were watching the Six Nations England vs Italy game. I think I might just get into the whole rugby thing!

For Valentine's Day, we went to a church which is the burial place of St. Valentine, and we had a meal in the Temple Bar area. Can you tell I was feeling the love? It was a lovely day. xx

Geekery: Angry Birds Addiction

Hi, My name is PeeDee, and I'm addicted to Angry Birds!

I have completed all the levels, gaining 3 stars in all stages as well as Total Destruction with Mighty Eagle.

They have just released a new update, so new stages for me YESS!!! And I've also just downloaded the new Valentine's Season Angry Birds. I'm in heaven!

I'm quite strict on myself. I'm not allowed to move onto the next stage until I've got 3 stars and total destruction on the current stage. It drives me mad sometimes but it makes the game more fun and competitive!

This is the best Iphone Game Ever!

OBSESSED MUCH?

Souf Efrika!

I miss home today! Not my home located within the M25. My home across the seas. Sunny South Africa!

Although I have been living in London for 7 years, I have never called this place Home. Even though I have no plans to return to South Africa, and therefore, technically, London is 'home'. I still have my mom's home phone number saved as 'Home' in my contacts.  It's hard to let go of some things.

I don't get homesick very often, but sometimes I see or hear something that reminds me of home and I get quite nostalgic.

Barry M: Grey

I love this colour! It's called 'Grey' (not very original) by Barry M.

I really like using the Barry M nail varnishes as all there are so many different colours to choose from and they are all so vibrant! I only ever need one coat for an all over good finish!
